The Toronto Port Authority, which owns and operates the popular Billy Bishop Airport released its plans to conduct an Environmental Assessment (EA) to assess the potential impacts to the environment of installing the proposed noise barriers.

In a year end review, the Toronto Port Authority indicated that it expected to hit its estimate of 1.2 million passengers for 2010, noting that it had successfully managed the 48 per cent increase in use over 2009, while at the same time establishing new relationships with community groups on the waterfront.

On November 30, TPA staff met with members of the public at the Radisson Hotel to discuss the draft Environmental Assessment on the Proposed Pedestrian Tunnel. These are the answers to the questions posed at that meeting.

The Toronto Port Authority today released a draft report prepared by independent environmental and engineering consultants, Dillon Consulting Limited, which concluded that the construction and operation of the proposed pedestrian tunnel would result in no permanent significant environmental effects.
