Traffic Changes at Airport

Starting Friday, September 26, 2014, passengers travelling to and from Billy Bishop Airport will notice changes to the airport’s mainland traffic loop and ferry vehicle loading lanes. Changes will include a tightening of the mainland traffic loop, as well as a reduction in the mainland vehicle lanes used to board and exit the airport’s ferry, and will remain in effect until the pedestrian tunnel’s opening in early 2015.

To ensure as little impact as possible on Billy Bishop Airport travellers, the passenger access route, traffic flow for vehicles picking up and dropping off passengers, as well as the existing taxi and shuttle loop, will remain the same.

For one day only, on Saturday, September 27, the mainland traffic loop will be closed to all vehicle access due to tunnel-related construction. Instead, the ferry vehicle line-up area will serve dual purpose as the passenger drop-off zone, as well as the ferry vehicle line-up area. TPA personnel will be on site to direct traffic and directional signage will be posted.
